Elementary School Math Books
Although this website offers and directs to a lot of math online training resources, there are still some vast advantages for using the "old" pen and paper method over computerized interactive practice.
Using books practices the child with holding attention and keeping concentration. It is easy to keep concentrating on a dynamic multimedia device, but successfully using books will lead to a broader child’s attention span.
Books also tighten the bond between the tutor and the child, rather than letting the child cope on its own with interactive and online activities. The tutor can closely watch and the child’s efforts, he can locate exactly the points of struggle, and genlty guide and correct him.
Workbooks practice the child’s fine motor skills, letting him advance on his own pace, writing and creating the numerals and formulas with his own efforts and skills, rather than just clicking the mouse or dragging objects across the screen.
Books can serve as homework practice for the materials taught in class, a source for rehearsing the materials during vacations, or even as the major source of mentoring for homeschooling.
