Rocket Blast Off - A 2nd Grade Addition Game

Stand by for blast-off!

NASA needs your help to launch rockets to the moon – and it’s all down to your math skills.

This interactive activity presents you with a grid full of numbers and a target number that you have to reach in order to launch the rocket. So if it asks you to reach 12, you need to click on, say two sixes, or a seven and a five, or even three fours in order to reach the total.

For smaller totals, a single number will do the trick, as long as the numbers you choose match up in total to the target then whooooosh, off the rocket flies.

Suitable for kindergarten to second graders, this challenges kids to put together the best combination of numbers and still leave themselves with enough variety to reach a range of targets.

You have a limited launch window for the rockets, however, and as the time ticks down, the space race is on to get the highest score!
