Pull Objects Out of the Bag - An Interactive Probability Game

By: www-k6.thinkcentral.com

Test your knowledge of probability with this simple interactive game.

You will be shown a number of objects in a bag – such as marbles of different colors – and it’s up to you to say how likely it is that you will pull a particular object from the bag.

So, if you are asked how likely it is that you will pull a red marble from the bag, your answer will range from impossible – if there’s no red marbles inside – through to certain, if it’s a bag full of red marbles.

There are five possible answers to each question: certain, likely, equally likely; unlikely and impossible. When you think you have the right answer, click the “check” button to find out if you’re right. Then click the button to clear the workmat and start again.

The questions are suitable for kids in fourth and fifth grades, and there is also an alternative set of questions asking how likely it is that a spinner will stop on a particular color.

Try both sets of questions and see how many you can get right!
