Selecting text with the keyboard keys

You can download here the document from this video to practice it by yourself!

You are welcome to use the keyboard to select text if you prefer, as opposed to the mouse.

While it comes down solely to personal preference, as you can do most of the same things with both methods, the keyboard method may be better for fast typists. This is because focusing on the keyboard will keep your fingers on it at all times and help you maintain a faster word-per-minute (WPM) speed. It may also be better for people who are a bit “clicky” on the mouse, that is they tend to accidentally press the mouse buttons, which may make highlighting a chore.

With the keyboard you can quickly select multiple lines or words with only a few keystrokes, and it may give you more precision and control over your highlighting and formatting.
